Eric is a partner at Purser Dooley Cockburn Smith LLP whose practice focuses exclusively
on commercial litigation. Originally from New Brunswick, Eric received his B.A.
from York University and his LL.B. from the University of Ottawa in 1996. Eric completed
his articles in Ottawa and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1998. Eric practiced
civil and commercial litigation in Ottawa before returning to Barrie in early 2000.
Eric has a special interest in construction lien litigation and litigation issues
relating to employment matters. A significant amount of Eric's legal practice
involves construction liens and other construction related disputes. Purser Dooley
Cockburn Smith LLP is a member of the Barrie Construction Association, the Orillia
and District Construction Association and the Midland, Penatang Builders' Association.
Eric also provides advice and litigation service on a wide range of issues of interest
to business clients including wrongful dismissal, commercial tenancies, collection
& creditors' rights, mortgage enforcement and contractual disputes.
In his spare time, Eric enjoys golfing, fishing, hockey and spending time with his
two young daughters.
